President John Dramani Mahama has announced Ghana’s ambition to position itself as a major production and export hub for Africa.
Speaking during bilateral discussions with the President of the Republic of Korea, Mahama highlighted the country’s abundant natural and human resources as key drivers for intra-African trade and industrial growth.

“Our goal is to position Ghana as a hub for production and exports to the rest of Africa,” President Mahama said, underscoring the strategic role Ghana aims to play under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
He added that leveraging Ghana’s resources alongside Korea’s technological expertise and innovation could create a “win-win partnership,” boosting trade, industrialization, and economic development across the continent.

The President also emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to increase the value of Ghanaian exports, strengthen food security, and expand the country’s presence in regional and global markets.
