In an effort to simplify the process for students and their families, the Ministry of Education has revealed that access to the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) for the 2024/2025 Senior High School (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) placements will be provided at no cost. This change eliminates the requirement for candidates to buy pin codes to verify their school placements, a decision that has been positively received by many.

“This new measure eliminates the need for candidates to purchase pin codes, making it easier and more accessible for students to check their placements,” stated Mr. Kwasi Kwarteng, the Ministry’s spokesperson, in a press release today. He highlighted that this initiative would help remove financial obstacles for both students and parents, adding, “The government is committed to ensuring that no student is left behind due to financial constraints in accessing their educational future.”

The Ministry has outlined three straightforward steps for candidates to check their placement results. First, they need to visit the official CSSPS website at www.cssps.gov.gh or www.cssps.org. Next, they should enter their ten-digit index number followed by “24” to indicate the year of completion, and then click submit to view their placement results.

“This is a huge relief for us,” remarked one parent, expressing appreciation for the new policy. “We no longer have to worry about the extra cost of purchasing codes.”

The Ministry also urged all eligible students to fully utilize the new system. “We are urging all students and parents to access the system promptly and avoid any delays in securing their placements,”Mr. Kwarteng emphasized, reiterating the government’s commitment to making education more accessible.

According to the Ministry, the free access policy demonstrates its commitment to supporting Ghanaian students and facilitating smooth transitions into the next stage of their academic endeavors.
