The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ho West, Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, has pledged accelerated development across all sectors of the constituency in the next four years.

Speaking during a tour of Tsito to thank constituents for endorsing his fifth-term mandate yesterday, Mr. Bedzrah assured chiefs and residents that development projects would be distributed evenly while lobbying for the area’s fair share of government initiatives.

Infrastructure

The MP cited the construction of the access road to the Tsito Senior High Technical School within six months of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) taking office as proof of his commitment. He revealed that he had also lobbied for additional access roads on campus to uplift the school’s status.

Mr. Bedzrah said the Bame–Anyirawase road, described as fast deteriorating, will soon see reconstruction to boost economic activity. He further disclosed plans for a new road project to connect Anyirawase and Tsibu by opening a route through the mountains, with engineers already inspecting the site.

Education and Human Resource Development

On human capital, the MP promised to support qualified students in securing tertiary scholarships through the GETFund and encouraged the youth to take advantage of the upcoming Work Abroad Program to gain skills and wealth for their communities.

Infrastructure-wise, a new six-unit classroom block will be constructed for the Tsito Junior High School, while Awudome Senior High School and Tsito Senior High Technical School are also set to benefit from upcoming projects. Mr. Bedzrah added that the School Feeding Programme would be expanded to cover all schools in the constituency.

Water and Health

Acknowledging the lack of potable water in Tsito, Mr. Bedzrah announced plans to provide mechanised boreholes for suburbs such as Gborkorfe and Xordeme, and to connect the Awudome Traditional Area and surrounding communities to the Kpeve Water Treatment Station.

In health, he revealed that the Tsito Clinic would be expanded, and a CHPS Compound would be constructed at Bokorvikofe to serve surrounding settlements. Other deprived communities will also receive health facilities.

Electrification

Mr. Bedzrah disclosed that Assembly Members had been tasked to identify areas without electricity so that he could lobby the Electricity Company of Ghana to extend power. He also promised to secure solar-powered streetlights, presenting 10 units to Tsito as a gesture of appreciation for the community’s overwhelming support in the 2024 general elections, where the NDC secured nearly 90% of the votes in the constituency.

Community Recognition

The representative of the Dufia of Tsito, Togbe Gobo Dake XII, Tsyofo Denteh, commended the MP’s developmental efforts and assured him of the community’s continued support. The traditional authorities also presented a citation of honour to Mr. Bedzrah in recognition of his contributions to Ho West, the Volta Region, and Ghana at large.
