Nii Djata has dismissed allegations that he bribed the Ghana Police Service over a dispute among the family involving the Dairy Farm land at Amrahia and Danfa.
In an interview with the Media over the weekend, the chief described the claims as “baseless and laughable,” insisting that the matter in question is a family dispute, not a criminal one.
“How can I even bribe the whole Ghana Police Service? It’s never true, and it will never be true,” he said. “This is purely a family issue, but some people have chosen to take it the wrong way.”
The controversy stems from disagreements among some family members over portions of land near the Dairy Farm enclave, which were reportedly sold to different parties.
According to Nii Djata, the case was initially brought before the Regional Crime Officer, who advised both sides to settle it amicably.
“The crime officer told us point-blank that this is a family issue, not one that should go to court,” the chief recalled. “He even urged us to meet on Friday with all parties to resolve it peacefully.”
However, he said the situation escalated after a faction allegedly petitioned the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), claiming that the chief had influenced police handling of the case.
“They even said I had bribed the whole Ghana Police because the matter wasn’t going their way,” he said. “It’s unfortunate because the truth will always set you free.”

Nii Djata stressed that some of the petitioners themselves had benefited from earlier land sales, accusing them of hypocrisy. “The petitioner is a big beneficiary of the same land we are talking about,” he stated.
He expressed appreciation to national leaders and law enforcement authorities for their professionalism. “I want to thank the President, the Chief Justice, the IGP, and the Regional Commander,” he said. “I believe in the truth, and no amount of lies will change it.”
