The Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Osman Nabali, has called on Chief of Staff Julius Debrah to consider contesting for the party’s presidential flagbearer position.
NDC’s Ashanti Youth organizer made the appeal while leading a group known as “Friends of Julius Debrah” to donate food items to the Kumasi Children’s Home.
The donation formed part of efforts by the group to support vulnerable children while promoting Mr. Debrah’s leadership credentials as part of his 60th birthday celebration which fell on Friday 24th April 2026.
According to Osman Nabali, the Chief of Staff at the Jubilee House possesses the experience and humility needed to lead Ghana, citing his years of service under previous administrations, including that of former President Jerry John Rawlings, former President Atta Mills and President John Dramani Mahama .
He stressed that many grassroots supporters within the National Democratic Congress believe Julius Debrah has the capacity to unite the party and contribute significantly to national development.
Osman noted that the group is actively encouraging Mr. Debrah to heed calls from party faithful and contest when nominations are opened.
He expressed optimism that, with broad-based support, Julius Debrah would accept the challenge and offer himself for leadership.
The NDC youth leader emphasized that the call reflects the sentiments of grassroots members who, he said, are seeking experienced and humble leadership to guide the party into the future.
The donation exercise, he added, underscores the group’s commitment not only to political engagement but also to social responsibility within the community.
