Renowned Ghanaian musician, Kwabena Kwabena, is set to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his timeless hit song, “Aso”, with a remix and a grand celebratory concert.
Speaking in an interview with Feeling Daddy on Starr Showbiz on Starr 103.5 FM on Saturday, August 23, his manager, Nana Poku Ashes, revealed that the remix will feature some of Ghana’s finest musicians. The remake is expected to explore the “untold side” of the song’s storyline, particularly the reasons behind the betrayal theme in Aso, which has sparked conversations among fans for years.
According to Nana Poku Ashes, Kwabena Kwabena’s two-decade journey in the music industry is worth celebrating, given his consistency, resilience, and impact. “Twenty years is a milestone in every human being’s life and in every career. Kwabena has stayed true to the game and true to music despite challenges, and this deserves all the accolades we can give him,” he said.
As part of the anniversary, a mega concert dubbed, “Aso @ 20” is being planned at the Labadi Beach Hotel, Omanye Hall. The event will bring together the crème de la crème of Ghana’s entertainment and social circles for a night of music, testimonies, and shared memories of Kwabena Kwabena’s illustrious career.
Born George Kwabena Adu on October 17, 1978, Kwabena Kwabena is a celebrated Ghanaian highlife musician, guitarist, and songwriter. He began his musical journey in church, leading his choir and mastering the guitar at a young age.

His breakthrough came in 2004 when he featured on Kontihene’s hit, “Esi,” which paved the way for his own debut album. That same year, he released Aso, the song that became an instant highlife classic.
