Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has been granted bail of GH₵10 million with two sureties after his detention by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
The musician, formally known as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., was granted bail on Thursday, August 21, 2025, following two days of questioning over a yellow Lamborghini Urus.
His manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah, popularly known as Sammy Flex, confirmed the development, saying the legal team is finalising arrangements to meet the bail conditions.
According to EOCO, the ongoing probe concerns tax obligations on the luxury car and the operations of Shatta Wale’s company.
The artiste had voluntarily reported to EOCO’s headquarters in Accra on Wednesday, August 20, accompanied by his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo, to assist with investigations before being detained.
EOCO earlier disclosed that it seized a 2019 Lamborghini Urus from Shatta Wale’s residence in Trassaco Valley in June 2025.

The agency said the vehicle had been flagged by the US Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the Department of Justice as linked to the financial crimes of Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is serving a prison term in the United States.
The car, currently in EOCO’s custody, is expected to be returned to the US as part of a \$4.7 million restitution order against Amuah.
