President John Dramani Mahama has called on national leaders and stakeholders to put aside partisan interests and prioritise the collective good of the country.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the post-election evaluation dialogue organised by the National Peace Council in Koforidua on Friday, July 4, President Mahama urged participants to embrace national service and shared purpose over political divisions.
“I urge all participants here today to rise above partisanship, reaffirm our shared destiny as Ghanaians, and rekindle the spirit of national service, whether we wear red, blue, green, or any other colour,” he said.
The President emphasised that political differences must never be allowed to become tools for division, mistrust, or violence, noting that unity, respect for diversity, and constructive engagement were essential to Ghana’s progress.
“The future we seek cannot be built on division. It requires unity of purpose, respect for diversity, and constructive engagement across party lines, religious beliefs, and ethnic identities,” he stressed.
President Mahama commended the organisers and participants of the dialogue for their commitment to Ghana’s democracy and charged them to ensure that the outcomes of their deliberations are put to practical use.

President Mahama reaffirmed his determination to strengthen Ghana’s democracy and promote peace, pledging to support the implementation of recommendations from the ongoing National Constitutional Review process.
“We must all play our part, whether in public office or in private enterprise, in the media or in the marketplace, in the courtroom or in the classroom. We are all stewards of our national patriotism,” he said.
