Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Director of Communications for the Bawumia campaign, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of failing to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s development and of dismantling the country’s industrial foundation.
Speaking on The Verdict with Isaac Addae on Starr 103.5 FM on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Aboagye questioned the NDC’s legacy and its role in Ghana’s political history.
“NDC is a very bad political party. It’s a party that doesn’t have the country at heart,” Aboagye said. “Take out all the initiatives the NPP has introduced and see what will be left. Till today, you can’t pinpoint any significant policy or initiative the NDC as a political party or as a group has introduced in this country.”
He argued that Ghana’s current industrial challenges stem from decisions made under NDC governments, particularly between 1989 and 2000. According to him, more than 300 state-owned factories were sold during that period, with some allegedly converted into churches.
“We are where we are because the NDC destroyed our industrial base, and even our governance,” he added.

Aboagye further said he could not imagine aligning with the NDC, pointing to what he described as decades of economic mismanagement and regression.
“This is a political party that has sent our country back almost about forty to forty-five years, and we are now trying to work our way back to the level of our peers,” he stated.
