NDC determined to win Abuakwa North seat on December 7 – Asamoah Boateng

A former parliamentary hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Edgar Asamoah Boateng, has declared that the party will do everything possible to win the Abuakwa North parliamentary seat in the upcoming December 7 elections.

In the 2020 elections, NDC’s candidate, Charles Yeboah Darko, popularly known as Ozey, garnered 15,551 votes (46.83%), narrowly losing to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Gifty Twum Ampofo, who secured 17,653 votes (53.17%).

This year, the NPP has fielded a new candidate, Nana Ampaw Addo-Frimpong, also known as Buffalo.

Addressing campaign rallies in Abuakwa North, Edgar Asamoah Boateng expressed confidence in the NDC’s chances, citing widespread dissatisfaction with the NPP government.

Edgar Asamoah Boateng criticized the NPP for mismanaging the country’s economy, which he said has led to severe hardships, increased unemployment, and the collapse of businesses due to poor policies, including the controversial financial sector cleanup.

He also lamented the lack of development in Abuakwa North and pointed out numerous uncompleted road projects despite eight years of NPP governance.

Edgar Asamoah Boateng urged NDC supporters, especially polling agents, to remain vigilant to prevent any attempts to manipulate the election results.

“Victory is within reach, but we must protect the ballot to ensure our efforts translate into success,” he said.

As part of his efforts to drum up support for the NDC’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, and the parliamentary candidate, Charles Yeboah Darko, Boateng visited several communities, engaging with traditional leaders, opinion leaders, and residents.

The NDC is optimistic about flipping the Abuakwa North seat, which it views as a critical battleground in its quest to secure a parliamentary majority.
