Officials from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) have surrounded the residence of Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, the Member of Parliament for Assin South and the Ranking Member of Parliament on the Defence and Interior Committee, following explosive allegations involving suspicious international flights.
The move by the NIB comes just days after Rev. Ntim Fordjour held a press conference on April 1, 2025, where he claimed that two aircraft an air ambulance and a private jet might have been used in drug trafficking or money laundering operations through Ghana. According to him, one of the aircraft, Air MED flight L823 AM, landed at Kotoka International Airport on March 20 and remained in the country for five days without any record of transporting a patient.
The revelations prompted swift action from President John Dramani Mahama, who directed all national security agencies to collaborate fully with the MP to investigate the allegations. “Ghana has a zero-tolerance policy for drug trafficking,” the President said, adding that the country will not be used as a transit or destination for illicit drugs.
It’s alleged that the presence of NIB officers at the MP’s residence is part of an intensified effort to collect evidence and obtain further details that may aid ongoing investigations into the alleged drug trafficking and money laundering claims.
