The Deputy Dean in charge of community engagement and business relations and Health Sciences at North West University in South Africa has challenged educational institutions in Ghana to prioritize the creation of ALUMNI to spur development of facilities through the “Alma Mata”.
According to Professor Ushotanefe Useh, there is the need for sustainable development on educational infrastructure and facilities and allowing part ownership of developmental programs to be undertaken by patrons that have been impacted by the college.
Professor Ushotanefe Useh was speaking at a workshop which brought together Departmental heads and leadership of Ada college of education (ADACOE) as part of North West University collaboration with Ada college of education in research and exchange program.
Professor Useh further noted that the collaboration will be both students and staff exchange and research as a joint project for mutual benefits.
He however urged Lectures of the Ada college to take advantage of upgrading their knowledge with the University for enhanced benefit.
Principal of Ada College of Education, Professor Prince Boateng on his part acknowledged the importance of ALUMNI for the college and noted that since his postings to the Institution four months ago,he has initiated processes to institutionalize”the”Almamata”.
He said the Ada College of Education will soon organize a conference to bring expertise from Academia as part of positioning the College for improved recognition.
