The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga, has called on the media and development stakeholders to play an active role in amplifying youth voices and supporting the success of the 2025 National Youth Festival.
Speaking at the official launch of the festival in Accra on Friday, July 25, the CEO emphasized that strategic partnerships are vital to ensuring that the programmes and opportunities outlined for young people reach every corner of the country.
“To our stakeholders and partners, I urge you to embrace our youth with open arms. Provide mentorship, create opportunities, and invest in their potential,” Osman Ayariga said. “To our media partners, help us amplify these messages and ensure that every young person in Ghana knows about these opportunities.”
The NYA boss highlighted that the month-long celebration is not just a symbolic gesture but a national movement aimed at empowering young people through skills training, ethical development, civic participation, and innovation.
He noted that the success of the 2025 National Youth Festival hinges on the collective commitment of state agencies, civil society, religious institutions, corporate bodies, and the media to rally behind the youth.
“This celebration is truly a national effort,” he added. “We are working closely with the UN System, all Ministries, Departments and Agencies, Parliament, faith-based organizations, traditional authorities, regional coordinating councils, NGOs, civil society organizations, corporate partners, media houses, student groups, and youth-focused organizations.”
Mr. Ayariga assured that this collaborative approach will allow the festival’s activities, spanning all 16 regions, to touch the lives of young people in meaningful ways. Through widespread communication and stakeholder involvement, the festival aims to ignite the potential of Ghana’s youth and inspire transformative change across communities.
The 2025 National Youth Festival, themed “Igniting Potential; Inspiring Change,” runs throughout August and includes regional job fairs, youth conferences, a presidential dialogue, and various community-based activities.
