Former Finance Minister Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta has sued two senior police officers for trespassing and violating his right to privacy.
The actions of the two defendants, DSP Bismark Boakye Ansah and Chief Inspector Mensah (also known as Sir Mensah), were deemed trespassory and a violation of his right to privacy, according to the plaintiff.
The writ of summons filed on March 10, 2025, was premised on an incident that occurred on February 11, 2025, in which a group of individuals, including some in military and police uniforms, allegedly raided his residence in Cantonments.
Ofori-Atta is seeking a declaration that the defendants’ actions were unlawful and constituted a privacy infringement.
He is also asking for a perpetual injunction to prevent any further interference with his property.
Again, he is demanding aggravated damages for breach of privacy, compensation for trespass and legal costs.
The defendants, DSP Bismark Boakye Ansah and Chief Inspector Mensah, are required by law to enter an appearance within eight days of being served with the writ.
