Member of Parliament for South Dayi, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, says Parliament serves as a space for citizens to express frustrations through their elected representatives—not a place for conflict.
Speaking on StarrChat with Bola Ray on Thursday, June 19, the outspoken MP described Ghana’s legislature as a democratic pressure valve that helps maintain national stability by giving voice to public concerns.
“Parliament expresses the sentiments of the people, and that is why there are no wars or battles. People can come and vent and go back home satiated,” he said.
Dafeamekpor’s remarks came during a wide-ranging conversation that explored his role in governance, his approach to accountability, and the emotional burden MPs often bear on behalf of their constituents.
