The Chairman of the Peace Council, who also serves as the Moderator of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Rt. Rev. Dr. Lt. Col. Bliss Divine Agbeko (Rtd), and Chairman of the Christian Council of Ghana, on Sunday, August 10, paid a courtesy call on the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to express his condolences over the recent helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight government officials.
During his visit to the party’s headquarters, Rt. Rev. Dr. Agbeko signed the book of condolence and offered prayers for the nation, the President, the party’s leadership, and the families of the deceased.
He was received by Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Mr. Godwin Ako Gunn, Deputy Communication Officer, and Madam Vida Addae, Director of Welfare.
Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, who also serves as the Executive Director for Prayer and Thanksgiving, expressed gratitude for the prayers and words of comfort shared by the delegation.
The visit follows the tragic Ghana Air Force Z-9 helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The aircraft, which had departed Accra at 09:12 GMT en route to Obuasi, went off radar and was later found in a remote area near Adansi in the Ashanti Region.
The accident claimed the lives of prominent figures, including the Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, and the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, among others.
