The Ghana Police Service says it has commenced an investigation into an incident involving the convoy of Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Friday, 29th November 2024.
“Preliminary Police report indicates that the incident occurred between Akuse and Kpong, along the Akosombo – Accra Highway in the Eastern Region, when a dispatch rider from the opposite direction allegedly threw an object at the windscreen of a vehicle in the running mate’s convoy, causing damage to the windscreen”, the police narrated in a statement.
The statement continued: “We would like to assure the public that the matter will be thoroughly investigated as we are committed to ensuring the safety of all persons before, during, and after the 2024 General Elections.”
