Russia 2018 may be difficult for Black Stars – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is confident the Black Stars will get their 2018 World Cup dream back on track despite their shaky start to the campaign.

The Black Stars face a herculean task of making it to the World Cup in Russia after managing just a point from the possible six.

The Stars drew goalless against Uganda at home and lost their second game by two goals to nil against the Pharaoh’s of Egypt.

Speaking at an event organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Berlin, President Akufo Addo said it will be difficult for the team but is hopeful the players will give off their best to qualify.

“It appears the qualifying for the next world cup in 2018 may be difficult, 2016 was not a good year politically and economically and it showed in our football.

“Nevertheless, am sure that the Black Stars will give it their best shot.”
