Receiving the award, Ms. Cobbah stressed the need for individuals and corporate bodies to use their God given talents to positively impact society.

“God gives us talents and if we use them to impact society, we fulfill the purpose of our existence and create value for all”. Her advise to businesses, “Businesses that invest in our communities, reap amazing returns by generating mutual understanding for strong relationships for better business and also enrich societies to be better able to patronize products and services.

“Through the annual Ghana Garden and Flower show for example, Stratcomm Africa is contributing significantly to facilitating Ghana’s realisation of the SDGs, summed up in the five Ps of people, prosperity, peace, partnership and planet,” she added.

The lead project Manager of the Centre for CSR West Africa, Kojo Williams, explained that the awards initiative was modeled after the European CSR Awards scheme with a multi-stakeholder jury drawn from academia, media, civil society, business associations and regulatory agencies.

The Special Assistant to the Minister of Business Development, Mrs. Afua Asabea Asare, who represented the Minister Hon. Mohammed Awal expressed the Ministry’s support for the initiative.
