The Tinga Traditional Area in the Bole District of the Savannah Region witnessed a historic welcoming on Sunday 1st November, 2026.
The new Chief of Tinga, Tingawura Abdul Fatawu Jaaga, also known as Saaka Abdul Fatawu Jaaga, from the Jaagape Clan, was coronated at the Tinga Palace Grounds.

Excitement filled the air at the Tinga Palace Grounds as residents, chiefs, elders, youth and women gathered under the banner Welcome Home, Our Royal Father Has Arrived to welcome their new Tingawura.
Speaking on behalf of the entire Tinga community, Hon. Dramani Alhassan Kennedy, Assembly Member for Tinga, stated that they are so happy to welcome their Royal Father, Tingawura Abdul Fatawu Jaaga. “This is a historic day for Tinga. Long Live The Chief! Long Live Tinga!” He declared.

The historic coronation was organised by the Assembly Member and the entire Tinga community.
The ceremony was graced by Mankpanwura Jakpa Acho-Ade Borenyi I, Paramount Chief of Mankpan Traditional Area and Member of the Council of State.
He represented the Chairman and entire membership of the Council of State, delivering a speech on behalf of the Council.

Mankpanwura stated that in Ghana, chieftaincy and the modern democratic state are not rivals; they are complementary pillars. The wisdom of the palace and the counsel of the Council of State both serve the same ultimate purpose: the peace, unity, and progress of the Ghanaian people.
He charged the newly enskinned Tingawura to lead with justice, humility and foresight – to be a unifier, not a divider.
Presenting a speech on behalf of the new Chief, Hon. Sarfo Sandari said Tingawura Abdul Fatawu Jaaga from the Jaagape Clan envisions a community that gives priority to health, social welfare and human development, drawing from his professional background in health care and education.
Equally important is the preservation of Tinga’s cultural identity, customs and traditional heritage.
For Tingawura Saaka Abdul Fatawu Jaaga, the true measure of a traditional leader lies not simply in the office one occupies but the positive difference one makes in the lives of the people.
Hon. Sarfo Sandari said Tingawura’s vision is for a Tinga that is peaceful in relationship, united in purpose, empowered in people, proud of heritage and progressive in outlook.

He emphasized humility, peaceful coexistence, and collaboration among chiefs, elders, youth, women and community members.
Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso I at his palace, conferred blessings and authority on the new chief, declaring that everything in Tinga now belongs to him.

He said stones, human beings, everything on the main street of Tinga belongs to the chief, and anything inside the room belongs to him. If somebody kills a buffalo, elephant or cow, the thigh belongs to the chief:
“Today as I enskin you as Tingawura and as you are going, everything in Tinga belongs to you. Stones, human beings, everything in Tinga – if anything falls on the main street of Tinga, it belongs to you. Anything inside the room belongs to you. If somebody kills a buffalo, elephant, cow, the thigh belongs to you. Go and stay in Tinga. Tinga belongs to you today until the end of your life.”
