The Sekondi Police Command led by ASP Emmanuel Tetteh has arrested Detective Adjei Shaibu of the Inchaban Police station for allegedly shooting and killing a student of the Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS)

Detective Adjei also allegedly injured another student.

It is unclear why the police officer shot and killed the student known as Lawrence Joe Baidoo, a final year student of GSTS in Takoradi and at same time injuring Kwabena Dukpor.

The entire Nyankrom community close to Shama was thrown into a state of shock and mourning when news went viral Friday evening about the killing of the 18-year-old GSTS Student.

A police source told Empire News’ Emmauel Ohene Gyan that the police officer has been detained.

Dukpor who sustained gunshot wounds is currently receiving treatment at the St. Benedict hospital at Inchaban while his friend’s body has been deposited at the Effia Nkwanta regional hospital for preservation and autopsy.
