We’ll give Akufo-Addo 1m votes; 30 seats in Eastern region – NPP Youth

The youth of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Eastern Region has vowed to give President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at least, one million votes in the 2020 Elections and also work diligently to secure 30 out of the 33 parliamentary seats in the region for the party.

Speaking at a press conference on the premises of the ultra-modern Senior High School (SHS) being constructed in Abomosu in the Atiwa West District, the Eastern Regional Youth Organizer of the NPP, Jerry Osei-Poku intimated that “on behalf of the youth in the Eastern Region, I pledged that, in the upcoming 2020 elections, we will continue to labour diligently to secure, at least, 1 million votes for President Akufo-Addo and 30 out of the 33 Parliamentary seats in the region for the NPP”.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo has fulfilled key 2016 Manifesto promises that have had far-reaching positive impact on the lives of majority of Ghanaians, adding that “to protect the significant progress we have witnessed in all sectors of the economy, especially education, and to consolidate the gains made, its imperative that the Ghanaian youth campaign vigorously for President Akufo-Addo and vote to give him four more years to do more for Ghanaians”.

Mr. Osei-Poku admonished the youth to not let their guard down and allow themselves to be deceived by the “lofty and whimsical promises of the incompetent, corrupt and unreliable NDC party”, stating that “when the Incompetent Mahama was President, he turned a blind eye to the plights of Ghanaians and gave no listening ears to the wailing of teachers and students, even though he knew that he will campaign for our votes once more.

“At the time the Incompetent Mahama was asking for another term in office, he told Ghanaians who were suffering from Dumsor-Dumsor, Job loses, and other economic hardships that “I have a dead goat syndrome”. In that same period, he canceled trainee allowances and he said with arrogance and pride that “I will never restore trainee allowance even if it will cause me the 2016 elections” Mr Osei-Poku ha said.

He further argued that judging from the track record and innate traits of Mr. Mahama, if the youth make a mistake to elect him as President in 2020, he will do his worse because he will not stand for elections again per the 1992 constitution.
