Ghanaians must realise the importance of savings as a cushion in times of need, Head of Information Technology at United Bank of Africa (UBA), Kwame Aduansere, has admonished.

Mr Aduansere observed that the savings habit of Ghanaians was not encouraging as compared to other countries and urged the public to always endeavour to save and invest.

For him, there was the need to sensitise Ghanaians for them to be abreast of the numerous benefits of not spending all of one’s income.

Mr Aduansere made the observation on Wednesday, May 31, as he handed over a three-bedroom detached bungalow to the ultimate winner of the Awoof Promotion which was launched for customers to develop a savings habit.

On his part, the winner of the promotion, Anthony Mensah, expressed excitement for emerging as the winner and encouraged the public to also save however little their income.

The promotion was aimed to reward loyal customers who opened an account with at least GHS200 deposit.

The fully furnished house will be in the affluent vicinity of East Legon.

The house will be provided under a mutual partnership agreement the bank has signed with Mobus Property Holding Limited, a local real estate development company.
