Four persons including a storekeeper at the Kumasi Academy SHS (KUMACA) have been arrested by the Asokore Mampong police over missing weapons in the school.
Two short guns and a pump action gun owned by the school were reported missing last Friday.
A source at the school told Starr News the storekeeper reported the missing weapons last week after he left the storeroom in the care of a carpenter and other workers.
It is however unclear why the school is keeping weapons. The four suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations into the matter.
According to Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo who has been following the story, authorities of the school are yet to explain why they have weapons in their possession and if they are registered.
KUMACA was recently in the news over the outbreak of Influenza H1N1 there which claimed at least four lives in December 2017.
