iSPACE, an NGO and Tech hub is partnering MLADIINFO INTERNATIONAL of Macedonia to organise a Mobile App Challenge known as Myouth where App developers will pitch their ideas that seeks to solve social problems. The seven days project will bring other app developers and project partners from countries such as Vietnam, Hong Kong, Germany, Kenya, Poland, and Austria etc. with Ghana serving as host.
Myouth is a mobile App challenge that targets youth between the ages of 18 – 33 years who have or are working on an android and iOS app that solves social problem and have a social impact. Myouth seeks to give these developers an opportunity to build on their apps by training them on their apps later on at Macedonia after successfully going through the stages. At Macedonia, they get to network with other developers and learn new skills on mobile app development.
Within the period of 10th to the 15th of April, 3 participants from four African countries namely; Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and Senegal will be camping at iSPACE where the Myouth competition will take place with four winners being crowned at the end. Some of the Competing Apps include Trashy Cash and the Autism Aid app.
iSPACE as an NGO, engages in other socially responsible and human empowerment activities in its attempt to widen the tech space in Ghana and give people more opportunities. It is known for programs such as Unlocking Women and Technology (UWAT), Phoenix coding school etc.
iSPACE were contacted by the European Union project to host this project based on their track record of successfully organising the Moja App, last year. Winners at this year’s Myouth program will also enter the European Youth Awards event in Austria later this year.
