Free SHS will increase Ghana’s human capital in 15 years – KEEA MCE

The Municipal Chief Executive of Komenda-Edina-Eguafo Abirem (KEEA), Nana Appiah Korang, has stated that for the next 10 to 15 years, Ghana will produce the highest human capital in the whole of Africa because of the Free Senior High School Policy.

According to the MCE, the best programme any government can give to his people is to educate the human resource and therefore the free SHS policy introduced by Nana Akufo-Addo government would produce graduates and scholars who will better the fortunes of the country.

Nana Korang said just this year along, Ghana has signal the exportation of nurses to Germany and Barbados and it is a sign of good things to coming adding the phenomenon will increase in the coming years when the policy is fully matured.

Speaking exclusively to the DAILY HERITAGE at KEEA, he called on Ghanaians to always pray for the President for long life and good health in other to execute all his policies and programmes to better the lives of Ghanaians.

Enumerating the number of developmental projects ongoing in the municipality, the MCE said the government through the Assembly have constructed six new classroom blocks and auxiliary facilities in three different communities, thus Breman, Abusa and Komenda and many other ongoing schools project is the constituency.

He said the assembly has also rehabilitated a new court complex for KEEA, distributed 30,000 coconut seedlings to farmers, constructed a modern borehole with solar system, constructed a number of roads in the area while others are ongoing.

Nana Korang said work is almost completed for the construction of a rural technology facility at Menpease one among five currently being constructed in the country to equip the youth in mechanic work.

“The assembly is currently constructing markets in Agona and Ayensuado with toilet facilities and also near completion of 42 million Euros on small landing beaches in the area adding that the people of KEEA have had their share in the good governance of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), he stated.

He added that under the good leadership of the NPP government the Elmina Clinic which was built in 1974 has been elevated to a Polyclinic status with new male, female and children wards, now have a medical doctor in charge, a dentist unit has being created and a new laboratory facility installed.

The acting Medical Superintendent of the Polyclinic Dr Felix Gerald Kwaning Darbbey appeal to the Mini9stry of Health to equip the new lab with hematology analyser, bio-chemistry analyser, place for blood banks and fridge to store the blood.

“We have the capacity here but our problems is that we lack many basic equipment or tools for work,” he stated.
