A former secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ho Central Constituency, Stanley Nelvis Glatey has vowed to halt the electoral fortunes of the New Patriotic Party in the constituency in the 2024 elections.
Stanley Glatey, who is a lecturer at the Ho Technical University is one of seven (7) persons seeking to be elected as the NDC parliamentary candidate for the Ho Central constituency ahead of the 2024 general elections.
The Ho Central constituency is one of two constituencies that have received the highest number of entries following a declaration made by the incumbent MP, Benjamin Komla Kpodo not to seek for re-election having been in Parliament since 2013.
But the former constituency secretary, who is making a second attempt having contested the 2019 parliamentary primaries believes his candidature will spell doom for the NPP in Ho Central.
At the official launch of his campaign, Stanley Glatey told the media that, “I want to send a clear signal to our opponents the NPP that I am coming to halt their progress in Ho Central and push them to where they belong.”
“I am here for the youth, the aged, the motor riders, the market women. I am here to create and offer opportunities while ensuring that the NDC hold firmly onto the Ho Central constituency as we match into the crucial 2024 general elections; this is the capital of the world bank of the NDC and so I’ll bring back the vibrancy, if Stanley fails, the youth have failed,” he added.
Meanwhile, a former Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Capt. Rtd. George Nfodjo has declared his support for Stanley Nelvis Glatey.
The former legislator who also served as Municipal Chief Executive for Ho Municipal told party members at the launch not to go for any aspirant other than Stanley Glatey.
According to Capt. Nfodjo, the aspirant worked and has gone through proper mentorship and also paid his due in service to the NDC.
The NDC has scheduled May 13, 2024 for its presidential and parliamentary primaries to be held across the various constituencies in the country.
