The Kwahu Nkwatia Divisional Police Command has launched a search for the three male students from Mpraeso Senior High School involved in an alleged rape of a female student. This incident occurred on Sunday, October 13.

 According to the police, eight students were allegedly involved in the incident, with three suspects still on the run.

The five apprehended suspects are set to soon face arraignment. The other three, who are currently on the run are being sought after.

The Mpraeso Senior High School’s management has also vowed to the police its full cooperation and commitment to assisting in anyhow they can in the investigation process.

The victim in question has also received the needed medical attention and is now receiving counseling services.

Background

A 16-year-old female student at Mpraeso Senior High School (SHS) in the Eastern Region is allegedly the victim of gang rape, leading to the arrest of five students.

Currently on the run are three additional students who participated in the act.

The victim described her encounter, saying that a male student called her as she was leaving the canteen with her buddy to get lunch.

She noticed seven other male students walking in his direction as she got closer to him.

She claims she didn’t know the suspects were having sex with her buddy, but she did leave her when they forced her to have sex.

She said that the incident happened on Sunday and that no one was around to provide assistance.

“I have been to the hospital for the necessary check up and I want the suspects to face the full rigorous of the law,” she voiced.

In an interview with Adom News, monitored by Starr Fm, headmaster James Affadu verified the occurrence. According to Mr. Afadu, the disciplinary committee dismissed all eight lads and turned the case over to the police for additional inquiry and suitable punishment.
