G7 Security Systems holds Annual Staff Durbar, honours hardworking employees

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director of G7 Security Systems Ltd, Mr. Mac-Reuben Kumah, has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to ensuring safety and security during the upcoming election period and Christmas season in the country.

He emphasized that G7 Security Systems’ mission is to provide holistic, reliable security solutions, stating that true security means fostering a safe, trustworthy environment—not merely reacting to threats.

Mr. Kumah made these remarks during the company’s Annual Staff Durbar, held in Accra under the theme, “Ensuring the Safety and Security of Our Clients Before, During, and After the Upcoming Elections and Christmas Festivities.”

“Our clients’ safety is paramount,” he said, addressing the growing sophistication of security threats. G7’s services are customized to meet the unique challenges faced by clients across residential and commercial sectors, aiming to create spaces where clients feel fully assured. As Ghana heads into the election season, heightened tensions are anticipated, and private security firms like G7 are stepping up to support national efforts led by the Ghana Police Service and other security agencies.

Focused on safeguarding lives, properties, and businesses—key components of client growth and stability—G7 has implemented strategic crime prevention measures designed to address potential unrest. Mr. Kumah highlighted various methods, including vulnerability and risk assessments to identify potential risks, technology-based surveillance, real-time response systems, and access control measures.

“Our highly trained security officers are the backbone of our operations, skilled in handling situations with both expertise and compassion,” he remarked, emphasizing their preparedness to act decisively and professionally, especially during this critical period.

Additionally, G7’s strategies include intensive personnel training, deploying additional standby officers, maintaining 24-hour control room operations, and close collaboration with law enforcement. This approach provides an integrated, around-the-clock security presence at all client sites, ensuring a vigilant response to any emergency.

Confidentiality and professionalism remain essential to maintaining client trust, which has established G7 as a reliable partner for both private individuals and large organizations.

The Managing Director urged all G7 personnel to uphold the highest standards, stressing that a satisfied client is G7’s strongest endorsement.

Reflecting on challenges within the security industry, Mr. Kumah pointed out issues such as low service charges and inadequate enforcement of policies and procedures.

He noted the company’s significant growth potential, particularly as demand rises from multinational firms, government agencies, and NGOs.

The Managing Director encouraged G7 personnel to view their roles as part of a noble profession, reminding them, “Safety First is Safety Always.”

He called on officers to maintain diligence, punctuality, and alertness, affirming management’s commitment to creating safe and supportive workplaces.

Mr. Kumah also celebrated award recipients’ achievements, pledging continuous support for the entire G7 team and a steadfast commitment to client safety.

Deputy Managing Director Jakper Kofi Kakariba echoed G7’s commitment to recognizing employees who consistently uphold company protocols and exhibit outstanding diligence. Kakariba explained that awards are based on substantial contributions rather than tenure, with a focus on tangible performance rather than mere presence.

“This year’s event marks a significant shift,” Kakariba noted, highlighting that the 2024 Annual Staff Durbar provided an unprecedented opportunity for the entire G7 team to engage directly in a formal setting.

This initiative underscores G7’s commitment to open communication and to honoring team members who embody the company’s values and work ethic.

Mr. Simon Yao Seglah, Physical Security Officer at Absa, urged security personnel to maintain high levels of professionalism and vigilance as the 2024 election approaches.

Stressing their critical role in protecting the bank’s assets and customer safety, he reminded security personnel that, especially after hours, they often serve as the only direct human oversight at bank facilities.

“We rely on you as our primary line of defense, securing our facilities and resources,” Seglah affirmed.

He further emphasized that security officers are the first point of contact for customers and should treat everyone impartially, regardless of appearance or arrival mode.

Seglah cautioned against any unprofessional conduct that might compromise the bank’s security standards, underscoring that fairness and vigilance are essential.

Additionally, D.O. III Nathan Ayisi, Operations Commander at Abelemkpe Fire Station, conducted a comprehensive training session on emergency response procedures, including advanced firefighting techniques.

This session was designed to enhance the readiness and skills of station personnel, ensuring they are well-prepared to respond effectively to emergencies.

D.O. III Ayisi also reminded participants that a basic fire prevention setup in any workplace must include four essential items: a fire extinguisher, a smoke detector, a fire blanket, and a fire alarm, all of which must be operational at all times.
