Adamus Resources (PTY) Limited (Adamus Australia) has refuted reports of attack on its mine site in Essiama, Western Region, on December 12, 2024.
According to management of the company, reports that “thugs” stormed the site and vandalized company property, are “completely false.”
The company in a statement explained that the allegations are purposely an attempt by the current management of Adamus Ghana to divert attention from an ongoing ownership dispute.
The dispute began when Angela List transferred Adamus Australia’s shares in Adamus Ghana to Nguvu Mining Limited without permission.
A court has since appointed an Interim Management Committee (IMC) to manage Adamus Ghana, but the IMC has been prevented from doing so by Angela List and her affiliates.
The company says the IMC’s visit to the mine site on December 12 was peaceful and aimed at observing operations.
Adamus Resources is, thus calling for a fair investigation into the ownership dispute, while urging the public to disregard the false reports.
It noted, “We fully trust the judicial process in Ghana and believe that justice will be done to Adamus Australia in due time, we however have to state that the continued use of the government to do the bidding of a citizen against the interest of an international company is not a good look for other foreign companies that wish to invest in Ghana especially in the extractive sector.”
“We would ask the discerning public to disregard all such false reportage. We take this opportunity to re-emphasize that at no point has Adamus Australia transferred its 90% shares in Adamus Ghana to Nguvu Mining Limited, and call for a thorough and fair investigation on how the ownership of the shares has changed from Adamus Australia to Nguvu Mining Limited, to be conducted by the relevant authorities.”
