Ahantaman Community Bank PLC has appointed Samuel Nyanzu Ackah as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), following the retirement of long-serving CEO Benjamin Afful-Eshun.
Mr. Nyanzu Ackah takes over the leadership of the bank after serving as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, as well as Head of Finance and Operations.
His appointment marks a new chapter for the financial institution, which has in recent years recorded significant growth in deposits, advances, profitability and total assets.
He succeeds Mr. Benjamin Afful-Eshun, who retired after more than two decades of service to the bank, including over 12 years as Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Afful-Eshun joined the institution in 2001 as a Project Officer and rose through the ranks to become CEO in July 2014. His tenure was marked by significant expansion and improved performance, with the bank strengthening its position as one of the leading community banking institutions in the Western Region.
The transition comes at a time when Ahantaman Community Bank is consolidating its growth and expanding its digital banking services to improve convenience and accessibility for customers.
At its 38th Annual General Meeting in April 2026, the bank reported substantial growth in key financial indicators for the 2025 financial year.
Deposits increased from GH¢367.25 million in 2024 to GH¢522.55 million in 2025, while advances to customers rose to GH¢356.22 million.
The bank also recorded a profit after tax of GH¢26.65 million and total assets of GH¢625.31 million.
Under its strategic direction, Ahantaman Community Bank says it remains committed to providing accessible and efficient financial services to communities within its operational areas.
Mission and Vision
The bank’s vision is to become “the most preferred financial institution in the rural banking industry, offering utmost satisfaction to all its stakeholders.”
Its mission is to provide easy access to banking services to people within its catchment area through effective and efficient customer care.
The bank says it will achieve this by strengthening stakeholder relationships and providing solutions that combine technology, expertise and financial strength, while creating customer loyalty, shareholder value and employee satisfaction.
With Mr. Nyanzu Ackah assuming the top executive position, attention will now turn to how his leadership will build on the bank’s recent growth, deepen financial inclusion and drive its next phase of development.
Ahantaman Community Bank, headquartered at Agona Nkwanta in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region, has a long-standing presence in community banking and continues to serve customers across parts of the Western and Central Regions.
