SECURITY IMPLICATIONS OF PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO SACKING IGP AKUFO-DAMPARE ON FRIDAY 20TH DECEMBER 2024 FOR RESISTING ATTEMPTS BY A SECURITY CABAL TO SUPPORT RIGGING OF THE DECEMBER 7 ELECTIONS

I write to inform Kan Dapaah (Minister of National Security), Dominic Nitiwul (Minister of Defence), Kwaku Asomani (National Security Coordinator), Lt. General Oppong-Peprah (Chief of Defence Staff), that there will be security implications for President Akufo-Addo’s decision to appoint COP Tetteh Yohuno as the next IGP on 20th December 2024, and to sack Dr. Akufo-Dampare as punishment for resisting attempts by a security cabal to support some nation wreckers to rig the December 7 elections.

Nana Addo may recall that I, Owula Mangortey, woke him up at about I.30 AM at his East Legon Ambassadorial Enclave residence on 16th January, 2008. I was bold and fearless to drive all the way from Sekondi to Accra to share with him INTELLIGENCE available to me that some elements within State Security were going to cause a blood bath at the official residence of Francis Poku, the National Security Minister who had been sacked by President Kufuor. He may recall that he was in pyjamas and a black morning coat when he met me.

From Nana Addo’s residence, I went to deliver the same INTELLIGENCE to then NDC Flagbearer, Prof. John Fiifi Evans Atta-Mills.

Nana Addo may recall that it was I, Owula Mangortey, and another valiant warrior, who stood up at the official National Security residence of Mr. Francis Poku, to resist actions of State Security Agents that could have led to a blood bath and escalation into a military insurrection on Wednesday, 16th January, 2008.

It is 1.30 AM today Friday, 20th December 2024, and I am unable to drive from Bawku to Accra. As I am smarting from the 6pm to 6 am curfew and intermittent dumsor and water not flowing from my tap, I wish to share with the National Security Chiefs this piece of Intelligence:

PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO WILL SACK IGP AKUFO-DAMPARE AND REPLACE HIM WITH COP TETTEH YOHUNO ON FRIDAY, 20TH DECEMBER, 2024. IT WILL BE NANA AKUFO-ADDO’S PAY BACK TO DR. AKUFO-DAMPARE FOR HIS NATIONAL PATRIOTIC DUTY TO STOP A SECURITY CABAL FROM SUPPORTING SOME NATION WRECKERS TO RIG THE DECEMBER 7 ELECTIONS.

As a Citizen, I wish to reveal to the Security Chiefs that Nana Addo’s decision on Friday, 20th December, 2024 WILL THROW A MATCH INTO THE TINDERBOX FOR THE FLARES OF INSECURITY THAT WILL FACILITATE HIS AVOWED PROMISE NEVER TO HAND OVER POWER TO DRAMANI IBN MAHAMA!!

Nana Addo has the power and authority to hire and fire his appointees and nobody has a quarrel with him. It is his perogative!!

However, I wish inform the Security Chiefs that, in the same manner that I, Owula Mangortey, spoke on Kwame Sefa Kaye’s Peace FM Morning Show and called on fellow Ghanaians to resist State Security’s attempt to assassinate Francis Poku on 16th January, 2008, I shall call on fellow Ghanaians and patriotic elements in the Security Agencies to resist any decision taken by the President on 20th December, 2024, that is is likely to cause an insurrection that will compromise the handover of power to Dramani Ibn Mahama.

You may love to hate or hate to love IGP AKUFO-DAMPARE, but be careful you don’t end up getting him celebrated as A PATRIOT for resisting clandestine attempts by a security cabal to support the nefarious activities of some nation wreckers to rig the December 7 election.

COP Tetteh Yohuno is from my mother’s hometown in the Osudoku general area. I am proud of him for rising to the top of the Ghana Police Service. When it is his turn to be appointed IGP and he is so appointed, I will applaud him.

However, family relations have not constrained me from writing to President-elect, Dramani Ibn Mahama, that on his assumption of office from 7th January, 2025, he should cause investigations into some elections rigging allegations made against COP Tetteh Yohuno that were amplified by some policemen of the PID in a suit number GT/0149/2025 filed on 11th November 2025 by Lawyer Issifu Kadiri Abdul Rauf.

As for us in Bawku, what we expect is continued efforts to restore security, safety, peace, progress and prosperity.

A word to the wise is in Bawku.

I shall return.
