At least six wooden shops have been burnt down in a fire outbreak at the Kaase Industrial Area in the Asokwa Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The fire that started at about 4:30PM on Tuesday swept through the shops destroying their contents.
The businesses affected included a provision shop, a Phone Repair Service; a Canteen; a clothing seller and some wooden wares on display.

Eyewitnesses who spoke to Ultimate News recounted that most of the occupants had closed their shops and left when smoke started billowing from one of the shops.
Firefighting efforts from the Ghana National Fire Service was heavily supported with water pumps from the Kumasi Factory of Twellium Industrial Company located opposite the affected building.
