Former Ghana international, Agyemang-Badu, has called on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to bring the ongoing issues surrounding the Black Stars captaincy to a final resolution.
Badu speaking on THE GAME with Monica Bukari the former Udinese player expressed his concerns, urging the GFA to make a definitive decision that will end the uncertainty over the team’s leadership position while provide clarity and stability for the team as they prepare for upcoming international fixtures.
“I think the captaincy issue should be an issue because he’s very sensitive to the issue that we should bring to finality. We don’t want in that kind of chaotic scenes that happened some months ago when we’re playing the qualifiers, I want them to bring finality to it so that, we know, this is the stage we are going”.
He also noted that there is a significant disconnect between Ghanaian supporters, the team, and the media.
“Apart from that, I am appealing, if it’s possible There’s a gap between our Ghana supporters, the media and the team. don’t let this massage things. And if the if we can do something to bring us a bit together. And normally when the supporters see the place, they love them. There’s no supporter who wants to harm the player”.
“But when emotion comes into the game, you see that kind of stands up. And I think the GFA and the footballers know how an emotion comes out of what is out. But if they can, the gap is too much any time or if they come to a club that the supporters and the federation and the media have a bit of gab like this, it creates a lot of problems,” Badu told GHOne TV.
So i am appealing if they can do something about it so that they can bring the supporters and the media close to the team so that we can have that kind of connection and I think it will calm nerves in the country. I think if these two teams can be settled very well, you will see the different Black Stars we are all yelling for”, he stated.
