Global Infoanalytics, a leading research firm, has warned government appointees against using their current positions to campaign for future political candidacies.
According to Mussa K. Dankwah, Executive Director of Global Infoanalytics, the primary focus for appointees should be on effectively executing their mandates, rather than being distracted by potential political ambitions.
Speaking on Morning Starr with Naa Dedei Tettey, Mr Dankwah emphasized that appointees must prioritize their roles and deliver on the objectives set by the president.
Dankwah clarified that while appointees are not expected to campaign at the moment, polls looking ahead to future elections are a standard part of the political landscape.
He pointed out that such polls are common globally, referencing the U.S., where polls to predict potential successors to President Trump were already being conducted just two months into his term.
Dankwah further stressed that government ministers should remain focused on their jobs and avoid letting distractions, including political ambitions, interfere with their performance.
]”We live in a different world today. Even when you are running for a national election, you are still governing the country. If you can’t multitask, then you can’t govern. We are not saying these people should go and campaign now, they are not going to do that, but we are indeed as a pollster looking into the future and nobody can tell us what or how we should do our work, if it doesn’t interest you, just look away. But if you look at the US, there are polls already looking for who will replace Trump and Trump has been in office for just two months, we have been in office for 90 days,” he said.
“So this is global work and we are an international company, we do things based on international standard.. Your job as a government Minister is to deliver an objective by the president, nothing else should distract you. If you mess up your ministry, your chance of becoming whatever is gone. So first is to focus on delivering your job as a Minister, we as a pollster, we’ll do our own thing…”
The firm, which follows international polling standards, reiterated that while they conduct polls about future leadership, their focus remains on gathering data without influencing current governance.
