The British High Commission has extended heartfelt condolences to Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama and the people of Ghana following the deadly military helicopter crash that claimed eight lives, including two senior ministers of state.

In a message, the Commission described the tragedy as a deeply sorrowful moment for the nation and offered its sympathies to the bereaved families.

“The British High Commission expresses deep condolences to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama @GhanaPresidency and the people of Ghana on this tragic and sad day. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those deceased during this difficult time,” the statement read.

The crash, involving a Ghana Air Force Z-9 helicopter, occurred on Wednesday morning in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region while the aircraft was traveling from Accra to Obuasi.

All eight passengers on board, including Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, were confirmed dead.
