The Black Queens have slipped to 67th in the latest FIFA ranking despite their impressive 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) performance.
The team fell from 66th to 67th globally, but maintained their position as the sixth-best team on the African continent.
After a shaky start at the tournament held in Morocco last month, the Black Queens bounced back strongly to finish third an encouraging sign under the leadership of head coach Kim Lars.
With WAFCON qualifiers already underway for the next edition, Coach Kim Lars and his squad will be aiming to build on their recent form and climb back up the rankings.
