The Birim Central Municipal Chief Executive, Solomon Brako Kusi, has commissioned two newly constructed health facilities at Aseneyɛ and Yeboahkrom in the Birim Central Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The projects include the Aseneyɛ Health Centre and the Yeboahkrom CHPS Compound, which comes with a mechanised borehole, as part of efforts to improve access to healthcare and essential services in underserved communities.
The MCE Solomon Brako Kusi said the Birim Central Municipal Assembly is committed to ensuring that every electoral area has access to a health facility, particularly communities where residents have historically faced difficulties accessing healthcare.
He urged communities to support the maintenance and development of public projects within their areas to ensure their sustainability.
The MCE also expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for what he described as his commitment to expanding access to essential public infrastructure and improving the wellbeing of communities.

He assured residents that the Assembly would continue collaborating with traditional authorities, development partners, health institutions and communities to ensure the effective utilisation and sustainability of the facilities.
The Municipal Health Director said the scope and standard of the two projects exceed what would ordinarily be expected of a CHPS compound, citing the infrastructure and facilities provided to enhance healthcare delivery.
The Aseneyɛ Health Centre was officially opened by the help of the Krontihene of the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, Obrempong Dr. Gyamfi Saforo Kyere II, while the Yeboahkrom CHPS Compound and mechanised borehole were commissioned with the assistant of the Odikro of Yeboahkrom, Nana Kobina Mensah Yeboah I.

As part of efforts to support the new facilities, the Assembly Member for the Aseneyɛ Electoral Area donated a set of computers to assist with administrative work, record-keeping and service delivery.
A private contributor, Mr George Mawuko, also pledged 30 bags of cement for external beautification and improvement works at the Aseneyɛ Health Centre.
He further committed to providing all the medical mattresses required for the Yeboahkrom CHPS Compound.

Residents of Yeboahkrom also contributed chairs and tables to furnish the facility, an initiative the MCE described as an example of community ownership and participation in local development.
