The Kabaka Foundation, led by its founder, Nana Owiredu Wadie (I), Nkosuohene of Kwahu Nkwatia, has cut sod for the construction of a modern Antenatal Unit and Adolescent corner at Ga East Municipal Hospital in Greater Accra Region to improve maternal and reproductive healthcare delivery in the municipality.

The projects are expected to be completed within a year of commencement of work.

The Adolescent Corner will provide counseling, reproductive health education, and psychosocial support, while the Antenatal Unit will enhance safe, patient-centered care for expectant mothers.

It aligns with the foundation’s vision of enhancing access and provision of quality healthcare for vulnerable populations in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and achievement of Universal Health Coverage.

Mr. Henry Kweku Larbi, Executive Director of the Kabaka Foundation, pledged the Foundation’s full support to ensure completion of the project by September 2026.

The Medical Superintendent, Dr. Ayuba Seidu Abdulai, expressed gratitude for the partnership, stating that the two projects when completed will improve health care delivery for women and girls.

Representatives from the Greater Accra Regional Health Directorate and the Municipal Health Directorate commended the initiative as timely and impactful.

The sod cutting ceremony was held on the birthday of Nana Owiredu Wadie (I).

He paid for all medical expenses of vulnerable individuals struggling to pay their medical bills at the hospital, and donated some medical items to management of the facility.

Kabaka Foundation, a charity organisation, continues to significantly contribute to Ghana’s healthcare sector with a number of project interventions.

In September 2023, the foundation handed over to the Eastern Regional Hospital, a 80-bed capacity multipurpose Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), which consists of high dependency, low dependency, stable, and isolation ward, Kangaroo Mother Care Excellence Centre with 10-bed capacity in-patient adaptation and hostel for mothers.

In June 2025, the foundation handed over a newly constructed Antenatal and Postnatal Care Unit to the Ashongman Reproductive & Child Health (RCH) Post under the Ga East Municipal Health Directorate in the Greater Accra Region.

The foundation has been distributing sanitary pads to enhance menstrual hygiene health among young girls.

Apart from health, the foundation has constructed a number of classrooms, court complex, Police station and accommodation for police personnel among others in Eastern Region.

Also many poor, but brilliant students are being sponsored by the foundation at the University level.
