Trasacco Company Limited, a leading real estate developer, has strongly condemned the recent demolitions of its properties along the Accra-Tema motorway, rejecting claims of any land dispute as unfounded.
In a statement, Kwame Owusu Danso Esq., Corporate Affairs and Legal Director of Trasacco Group, emphasized that the company “stands firm against a baseless land dispute, threatening our transformative residential project along the Accra-Tema motorway.”
The land, he noted, was legitimately acquired from the Tema Development Corporation (TDC) in 2004.
“We unequivocally affirm that the land was lawfully acquired from the Tema Development Corporation (TDC) through a 2004 agreement, formalized in a lease dated 29th November 2012, covering 270.1 acres.
For nearly twelve years, Trasacco has diligently developed this land, enabling third parties to lawfully acquire and build their properties. Until recently, our clients enjoyed peaceful occupation without any third-party encumbrances.”
Danso expressed concern over attempts by some individuals to inflame religious tensions by falsely implicating the National Chief Imam in the dispute.
“Our Director of Security, Col. Salifu (Rtd.) contacted the Office of the Chief Imam, which confirmed that no such publication or claim was authorized. This attempt to exploit religious sensitivities to justify illegal actions is unacceptable and must be condemned by all well-meaning Ghanaians,” he said.
He also highlighted reports that military personnel, allegedly deployed from Jubilee House, assisted encroachers in unlawfully demolishing fences and properties belonging to Trasacco and its clients.
According to the company, these actions were carried out without verification or engagement, causing distress to families who trusted Trasacco with their investments. The company also refuted claims that it had blocked access to any group, including the “Muslim Community,” describing such narratives as misleading.
Trasacco has called for immediate investigations into the demolitions and for the swift arrest of those responsible.
“The rule of law must prevail, and justice must be served. Trasacco urges the authorities to protect our clients’ rights and ensure accountability. We remain committed to delivering quality homes and a thriving community in Tema, undeterred by this orchestrated disruption. Let truth and fairness guide us forward,” the statement concluded.
