A photo circulating on social media and shared by several platforms claims to show the Acting Chief Justice, Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, holding an umbrella branded with the logo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The post has also been shared on X (formerly twitter) by users, including ‘Abdul Rauf Ibrahim”, ‘Gen. Buhari’ among others.
The Facebook post, published by ‘Snadra Ewool’ on November 11, 2025, captioned ‘‘A special good morning to our Chief Injustice, HenDeeCee branch!”, generated 431 reactions, 248 comments and 7 shares in 4 hours, with some social media users suggesting that it proves the Chief Justice is politically aligned.

However, checks by EIB Research show that the image is not real. After running the photo through several image verification and forensic platforms, it became clear that the picture is not a genuine photograph. When the image was uploaded on Jimpl.com, a platform that extracts hidden details such as camera model, capture date and GPS location, all fields returned blank. There was no information about where, when, or how the picture was taken.

A further check on EXIFData.com, another metadata analysis tool, showed that the usual photographic details- camera brand, lens, exposure, aperture and ISO speed were all missing. This is unusual because authentic photos from cameras and phones normally carry these details automatically.

When the image was examined on Linangdata.com, which reads deeper digital traces of images, all the key data fields were marked as “unknown.” The platform could not detect any camera or lens used to capture the image, another indication that the picture was not taken with a real camera.

The photo was also subjected to google reverse search, one of the world’s most reliable tools for tracing where an image first appeared online. The search revealed that the first time the image appeared on social media was Monday, November 10, 2025.

The final test on Copyleaks.com, an AI-detection platform, flagged the image as not genuine. It also inscribed “AI DETECTED” on the image. The platform’s system identified irregular patterns in the photo that are commonly found in images generated by artificial intelligence tools.

After running the image across all these independent platforms, there was one consistent result, the absence of any camera details, location data, or prior existence online.
These are all key indicators that the picture is not authentic.
No credible media house or photo agency in Ghana has ever published any photo of the Acting Chief Justice in that posture or holding a party symbol.
Moreover, the circulating image is one day old and has no original source.
This makes it clear that the viral image is fabricated and designed to mislead the public.
Based on the available evidence and forensic results, EIB Research concludes that the image of Acting Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie holding an NDC umbrella is fake.
