Ghanaian media luminary and entrepreneur, Nathan Kwabena-Anokye Adisi, known in media circles as Bola Ray, has been named the first-ever honoree of The Creative’s Space of Fame, a new platform designed to celebrate pioneers and visionaries across Africa’s creative industries.

Announced this week ,  Bola Ray’s induction recognises more than two decades of influence, leadership and ground-breaking achievement in Ghana’s media, broadcasting and cultural sector. The Creatives’ Space of Fame aims to immortalise individuals whose talent and enterprise have elevated the creative economy, both regionally and across the continent.

Bola Ray first rose to prominence as a student broadcaster at Radio Universe in 1997, before earning national acclaim as the host of Joy FM’s drive-time show, a slot he transformed into a benchmark for urban broadcasting. Over more than a decade in radio, his signature conversational style helped to shape the industry’s evolution, attracting a new generation of listeners and setting the pace for future innovators.

Beyond his work on-air, Bola Ray’s contributions to Ghana’s media landscape include the founding of EIB Network, which brought together leading outlets like Star FM, GHOne TV, Kasapa Fm, Abusua Fm, Empire Fm, Ultimate Fm , Agoo TV and FM, under one professional umbrella. His vision helped reposition private media, combining rigorous management with a creative mandate that supported Ghana’s emerging talent.

Through Empire Entertainment, Bola Ray also created the influential Ghana Meets Naija concert, leveraging music as a tool for cultural diplomacy and integration long before the rise of Afrobeats.

The Creative’s Space of Fame highlighted Bola Ray’s role as a mentor and leader whose example continues to inspire younger creatives. His open autobiography, “It Is Possible,” is cited by the platform as both a candid account of personal ambition and a blueprint for long-term sector growth.

According to the scheme, the induction affirms the importance of structure, integrity and institutional vision as the sector faces new challenges on the world stage.

In a short video, The Creative’s Space of Fame said: “For distinguished service to Ghana’s creative and media industry. For founding institutions that expanded opportunities for young creatives. And for advancing the integration of West African music and culture through enterprise and vision, Nathan Kwabena-Anokye Adisi, Bola Ray, is hereby inducted as the inaugural honoree.”

The scheme also commended his impact, which signals a future in which excellence, discipline and collective advancement shape Africa’s creative economy for the next generation.
