The Awutu Senya East Constituency Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Michael Addy, has given assurances that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure a peaceful and orderly flagbearer election.
Speaking ahead of the January 31 polls, Mr. Addy said the party, in collaboration with security agencies, has taken proactive steps to prevent disturbances and safeguard the electoral process.
According to him, representatives of all five presidential aspirants have engaged the police to address potential security concerns, ensuring that delegates can exercise their franchise without fear.
“We assure every delegate that they can cast their ballot in a peaceful and conducive atmosphere,” Mr. Addy stated.
He emphasized that the constituency party remains committed to unity and will fully support whoever emerges as the NPP’s flagbearer, stressing that cohesion is critical to the party’s efforts to recapture power in the 2028 general elections.

Mr. Addy also highlighted the NPP’s strong development record in Awutu Senya East but admitted that mistrust among supporters remains a challenge, largely due to the intense competition among the five presidential contenders.
He acknowledged that the multiplicity of candidates has, at times, undermined party directives but urged members to place party unity above individual ambitions.
According to him, maintaining discipline and cohesion before, during, and after the election will be key to strengthening the NPP’s fortunes going forward.
