Voting is currently underway across the Eastern Region with a total of 21,843 delegates expected to participate in the exercise.
In the New Juaben South Constituency, voting is taking place at Polling Stations “A” and “B” at Koforidua SECTECH.
As at 8:00am, Polling Station A, which has 558 registered delegates, recorded 40 delegates who had cast their ballots.
At Polling Station B, with 516 registered delegates,43 delegates had voted as at 8:05am.
The process at the centre has so far been peaceful and orderly.
The Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, Michael Okyere Baafi, is yet to cast his vote.

Meanwhile, in Abuakwa South Constituency, voting is also ongoing at the M/A Experimental School in Kibi.

The exercise there has similarly been calm, with no incidents reported.
This constituency is the home of former MP, Hon. Atta Akyea, who has been very controversial in his comments during the campaign had not shown up at the polling station as at the time of filing this report.

Speaking on the exercise, the Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Joseph Owusu Bempah, said the police are cautiously optimistic about a peaceful outcome.
He noted that security personnel remain on high alert and are closely monitoring developments across the region to ensure the polls remain incident-free.
