A member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Communications Team, Kwadwo Poku, has commended former Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Hajia Samira Bawumia for what he described as her impactful yet often under-appreciated contribution to the party’s political fortunes.
Speaking on GHToday with Lily Mohammed on Monday, February 2, 2026, Poku said Hajia Samira exemplifies the popular saying that “behind every successful man, there is a woman,” arguing that her support for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia deserves broader public recognition.

According to him, Hajia Samira’s extensive nationwide engagements during the campaign period struck a chord with voters, with many communities responding positively to her message.
“She did a wonderful campaign for her husband, and wherever she went, people appreciated her message,” Poku said, noting that her presence added depth and credibility to the campaign.
He further expressed confidence in the leadership potential of the Bawumia family, stating that he looks forward to seeing Dr. Bawumia and Hajia Samira serve Ghana as President and First Lady.
“I can’t wait to see them as President and First Lady for this country,” he added.
