Grace Amoabeng, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Team, has questioned the visible impact of Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, arguing that expectations attached to the office are “very high” and must be met to satisfy public perception.
Speaking on GHToday with Lily Mohammed on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, Grace Amoabeng said she was not seeing enough public impact from the Vice President’s work, noting that comparisons with previous occupants of the office were unavoidable.
“The bar has been set very high, so she has to meet it,” Amoabeng said. “If we are not meeting it, that is where people will see that this woman is not really catching up with what was done previously.”
She suggested that the Vice President’s team needed to reassess its strategy, particularly in response to continued public complaints despite her engagements.
“The team has to sit down and say, ‘Okay, people are still complaining. All the rounds that she’s making, what are we going to do to make sure that people are really seeing her out there?’” she stated.
Amoabeng also commented on the role of the head of the economic management team, describing it as one centred on guidance and coordination rather than direct implementation.
“He’s supposed to guide. He’s a major liaison,” she said, adding that questions should be raised about how the internal arrangements within the economic management structure were functioning.

She further dismissed claims that perceived lack of impact necessarily reflected a lack of confidence in individuals, stressing that governance operates within established systems and procedures.
