Member of Parliament for Builsa North and Majority Leader nominee James Agalga, together with Municipal Chief Executive Solomon Akogti, has commissioned a number of development projects aimed at improving healthcare, education and access to potable water in the Builsa North Municipality of the Upper East Region.
The commissioned projects include two health centres, three schools, two nurses’ quarters and 10 boreholes across communities in the municipality.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremonies, Mr Agalga commended nurses and other health workers in the municipality for their dedication and urged them to continue providing quality healthcare to residents.
He pledged to provide the necessary equipment required at health facilities to improve service delivery and ensure better healthcare outcomes for residents.
Mr Agalga also promised to address accommodation challenges facing nurses in the municipality, particularly concerns over the poor condition of some staff quarters.
He said improving accommodation for health workers would help ensure that nurses live closer to their places of work and are better positioned to respond to the needs of patients.
At the Kadima Health Centre, Senior Midwife Juliana Abasim expressed appreciation for the new facility, saying health workers had previously faced significant challenges due to inadequate space.
While commending the MP for the intervention, some nurses appealed for additional support to fully equip the facilities and improve their working conditions.
They said further investment in equipment and other essential resources would enable them to provide more effective services to residents.
The newly commissioned projects are expected to expand access to healthcare and education while improving access to clean water for communities across the Builsa North Municipality.
The interventions form part of efforts to address key infrastructure needs and improve the quality of essential services available to residents.
