Renowned Ghanaian chef, culinary educator, food entrepreneur and humanitarian, Chef Abbys, has officially commenced her West Africa Food Tour, with Togo serving as the first stop on a journey aimed at celebrating the region’s diverse culinary heritage.
The tour, which began in Lomé, Togo, seeks to strengthen cultural connections across West Africa while highlighting the people, traditions and stories behind the region’s cuisine.
As part of the tour, Chef Abbys will explore traditional markets, local delicacies, indigenous ingredients, home kitchens, restaurants, street food scenes and culinary traditions unique to each country she visits.

According to a statement, the initiative will generate digital content designed to educate and inspire audiences while promoting intra-African tourism and greater appreciation for indigenous cuisines.
The Togolese leg of the tour will include discoveries of authentic local dishes and stories surrounding culinary traditions passed down through generations.

The tour will also take Chef Abbys through Nigeria, Liberia, Senegal, Cape Verde and Côte d’Ivoire and is intended to highlight the role of food in shaping identity and the community, as well as its potential contribution to economic development.
Beyond the culinary experience, the West Africa Food Tour is positioned as a platform for cultural exchange, storytelling, tourism promotion and economic empowerment.

Through visual content and conversations with people across the region, Chef Abbys aims to amplify local foods and showcase African culinary excellence to audiences within the continent and internationally.
The tour forms part of her broader mission to showcase Africa’s rich food culture on the global stage while fostering collaboration and cultural connections across borders.
