Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has pleaded not guilty to three charges, including intentionally causing financial loss to the public purse in the sum of over GH¢9 million.
The 44-year-old legal practitioner, who is currently in the docket also denied charges of conspiracy and money laundering.
He is said to have conspired with the Managing Director of SIC Life Savings and Loans in 2020, and additionally transferred the sum of GH¢1 million while knowing that the money was proceeds of crime.
Currently, Deputy Attorney-General Dr. Justice Srem-Sai is on his feet presenting the brief facts before the High Court, presided over by Justice Charity Akosua Asem, a Justice of the Court of Appeal sitting as an additional High Court judge.
