The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has increased its nationwide operational network from 33 to 63 offices following the opening of 30 additional service centres.

The expansion, undertaken under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Julius Neequaye Kotey, is aimed at improving access to driver licensing and vehicle registration services and reducing the distance customers travel to access them.

Speaking at the Government Accountability Series at the Jubilee House on Monday, October 12, 2026, Mr Kotey said the Authority had opened the new facilities within his first 18 months in office.

“Within 18 months as Chief Executive, we have opened 30 new offices, thereby increasing the number of visible DVLA offices from 33 to 63 as we speak,” he said.

He explained that the expansion comprised 12 DVLA offices and 18 Ultra Centres established through private-sector participation to extend the Authority’s services to more communities across the country.

The newly opened DVLA offices are located in Adentan, Bole, Dormaa, Bechem, Salaga, Nalerigu, Navrongo, Tumu, Nkoranza, Asuogyaman, Yendi and Atebubu.

The Ultra Centres, meanwhile, have been established in areas including Tema Port, Dansoman, Akwatia, Asamankese, Ashaiman, Teshie-Nungua, Nsawam, Kasoa and Pokuase-Kwabenya.

Mr Kotey said the Authority was continuing to expand its operational presence, with additional projects underway in several communities.

These include Dambai, Kete Krachi, Enchi, Twifo Praso and Konongo.

The ongoing projects form part of the DVLA’s efforts to bring its services closer to the public and make driver licensing and vehicle registration more accessible to customers nationwide.
